Advanced Coatings - Electro-deposition
Electro-deposition bridges the gap between thin film processes and bulk deposition techniques, depositing layers with thicknesses from several to hundreds of microns. A wide variety of materials, including ceramics, metals, and polymers can utilize the electro-deposition process. Metals can be electroplated from solution, increasing efficiency in terms of material usage. For well designed suspensions, ceramics and polymers can be deposited by electrophoretic deposition (EPD).
Leveraging its expertise in particle dispersion and polymer physics, TA&T is actively developing materials and processes for a broad array of applications including, but not limited to, dielectric coatings, biopolymer processing, and ceramic metallization. Furthermore, TA&T is capable of selective electro-deposition when the process is integrated with various microfabrication processes.
